Street Fighter 6 surpasses the 2 million sales mark

It is after just over a month that Capcom has announced a new milestone in terms of sales for Street Fighter 6: reaching 2 million units sold worldwide.

A legendary franchise that continues to thrive

Indeed, the latest installment of the Street Fighter saga has managed to retain the unique essence of the franchise while introducing major innovations and an improved overall experience in both gameplay and storytelling.

As Capcom points out, the goal was also to attract a new audience and make the franchise more accessible, hence the addition of the “Modern Control Type,” an option for simplified input for new players, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the game and execute special attacks with simple button combinations.

Esports events are also crucial in maintaining this momentum and sustaining interest. The Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2023 will begin in July with the participation of nine teams. In August, the Capcom Pro Tour 2023 will offer a record-breaking $1 million prize to the champion, bringing the total tour prizes to over $2 million.

With the quality of the latest Street Fighter and all the work done by Capcom to keep this legendary fighting game franchise alive, it’s no wonder that the excitement for this sixth installment is well-deserved, and we hope it continues. As a reminder, the new fighter Rashid will arrive at the end of the month in Street Fighter 6’s first DLC, a game available since June 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
